Pav Bhaji: A Popular Indian Street Food



Ingredients

approx. 30 mins 2-3 servings

  1. 5-6 Beans, chopped

  2. 1 large sized Onion, minced

  3. 3-4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped

  4. 2 Carrot, finely chopped

  5. 3-4 Cauliflower florets, finely chopped

  6. 3 Potatoes, boiled

  7. 1 Capsicum, finely chopped

  8. 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped

  9. 1/2 Lemon, fresh juice

  10. 1-2 tsp Kasuri Methi

  11. 1-2 tbsp Coriander powder

  12. 1-2 tbsp Garam Masala

  13. 1 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder

  14. 1 tsp Kitchen king masala

  15. 2-4 tbsp Vegetable oil

  16. 1-2 paneer cubes, grated

  17. 2-3 tbsp Pav Bhaji powder

  18. 1-2 tbsp Ghee

  19. 1 tsp black pepper powder

  20. Salt as per taste

  21. Water

  22. 1 tbsp cumin seeds

  23. 1/2 tsp hing/ asafoetida

  24. 2 paneer/cottage cheese cubes

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Heat 2 tbsp of oil on medium low flame. Add cumin seeds, hung/asafoetida and chopped onions. Then add chopped garlic and 1/2 tsp of salt.


Step 2

Then add all the veggies and salt. Stir well and cook them for 1-2 mins. Add turmeric, coriander, red chilli, black pepper powder, kitchen king and garam masala. Mix everything well.


Step 3

Add some water and mix well. Let them cook on medium low flame.


Step 4

Start mashing the mixture. After mashing the veggies, add mashed potatoes.


Step 5

You can also add some water (if required). Again mash everything very well (not too fast). Once it's done, add 1 or 2 tsp of ghee in it.


Step 6

Your lip smacking Pav bhaji is ready. Garnish it with some grated paneer and salad. Enjoy :))
